Perinatal Mental  Health & Birth Trauma Therapy

for Women in New York & Connecticut

Specialized therapy for pregnancy loss, birth trauma, postpartum anxiety, and reproductive transitions. Supporting women and birthing people through grief, healing, and identity shifts.

Let’s take this step together.

Maternal mental health therapist in NYC and CT. Therapy for pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and grief using trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.

Mothers often carry stress, guilt, identity loss, and grief alone - especially when support is missing and expectations aren’t met.

Therapy can help you process emotions, rebuild yourself, and reconnect with your family.

A Specialized Approach to Perinatal & Reproductive Trauma

You deserve to feel seen, supported, and held.

I’m Dr. Solimar Santiago-Warner, a licensed clinical social worker and certified perinatal mental health specialist serving clients across NYC, Westchester County, and Connecticut.

My work integrates:

  • EMDR therapy for trauma processing

  • Somatic and body-based approaches

  • Grief-informed psychotherapy

  • Culturally responsive care for BIPOC women

This is not general therapy.
This is specialized, deeply attuned care for what your body has been holding.

-Solimar, therapist, perinatal palliative care social worker, mother, scholar, and owner of Solmaterna Psychotherapy and Consulting.

NICU trauma, birth trauma, and pregnancy loss therapy in NYC and Connecticut. Specialized support for postpartum mental health and healing.

Our Services

  • We’ll work gently and intentionally to help you process what you’re experiencing while building a sense of internal safety and grounding. Support is available for anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, and perinatal mood and thought disturbances.

  • Your grief deserves space, dignity, and understanding. This is a space for deep mourning, reflection, and meaning-making at your own pace, with care that honors the body and the complexity of loss. Support is available for TFMR, fetal diagnosis, infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, chronic illness, birth trauma, and experiences with reproductive assistance.

  • You are not “too much,” “too late,” or “too far gone.” Therapy offers space to gently rewrite your internal narrative and move through this season with clarity, steadiness, and self-trust. This work is especially supportive for women navigating perimenopause, motherhood, high-achieving careers, and the invisible weight of balancing it all—along with identity shifts, burnout, perfectionism, relationship strain, and the pressure to keep functioning while carrying so much internally.

  • We move at the pace of trust, creating a space where you can safely begin to understand and release what you’ve been carrying for a long time. Using EMDR, body-based (somatic) work, and parts work, we gently process experiences that still feel stuck—so they no longer show up as anxiety, overwhelm, or disconnection in your daily life.

This includes support for complex trauma, including birth and reproductive trauma, and is especially helpful for women who are high-achieving, used to holding it all together, and ready for deeper, more lasting healing.

  • Focused, extended EMDR sessions designed to help you process and move through trauma more efficiently than weekly therapy. Effective for birth and reproductive trauma, pregnancy loss, anxiety, PTSD, and other experiences that feel “stuck” in the body and mind.
